ABOUT

Australia may not be one of the world’s largest coffee-producing countries, but it was here, deep in the heart of New South Wales, that we discovered an amazing specimen, a far cry from the other Australian coffees that we knew. Mountain Top Estate coffee is produced in the southernmost coffee-growing area of the world, and benefits from special climatic conditions that allow a long maturation period of between 11 and 12 months (compared to 8 to 9 months in Brazil).

MOUNTAIN TOP ESTATE

Until a few years ago, we thought we had discovered Australia’s one and only coffee farm, but we could not have been further from the truth! And it was by pure chance that we came across the Mountain Top Estate and its exceptional coffee.

The cherries at this farm, located in the region of New South Wales, some 200 km south of Brisbane and at an altitude of 350 metres, are controlled at each stage of production, from harvesting through to drying. The coffee enjoys climatic conditions similar to those of coffees usually grown in much higher regions. The bean quality is such that it has allowed a barista who chose one of the farm’s coffees to win a world championship.

The Mountain Top Estate’s mill is the most modern in Australia and boasts one of the best optical sorting technologies.

The story
of the producer

If the Mountain Top Estate is such an amazing farm it is also thanks to the passion and expertise of its producers who have chosen to work with the K7 variety, more commonly found in Kenya than in these latitudes .
