Christmas for the schoolchildren of Pilos del Cafe
This year we are celebrating Christmas with the coffees of Oscar Daza, our partner in Colombia since 2017.

A few years ago, Belco and producer Oscar Daza (owner and manager of La Pradera) decided to invest in the purchase of a plot (under the project name "Pilos Del Café"*) adjacent to the local public school in Aratoca.
On this plot, the school's students learn about agronomy and agroecology, and discover all the stages of coffee production, from planting to processing. The coffees grown on this plot help support the school year after year.
This year, we want to offer the school children a festive moment around a Christmas snack and finance the planting of young Laurina coffee trees, a rare variety, on their plot.
Basically, what are we funding and how?
For every kilogram of coffee you buy, €0.10 will be donated to the Christmas project for children—and Belco will double that amount!
→ That means €0.20 will be raised for every kilogram sold, which will fund:
→ A Christmas snack for the children
With the funds raised, our team will organize a festive event for all the children at the school: a Christmas party with a traditional Colombian snack (arepas).
A total of €800 is needed to provide this snack for all the children and teaching staff (around 190 people).
→ Young Laurina coffee trees for the farm school
With the funds raised, we will buy Laurina coffee tree seedlings, a rare variety that produces coffee with half the caffeine content (and looks a bit like a small Christmas tree), for the plot of land next to the school.
Here is a projection, based on 69 kg bags:
250 trees = €330 = 1,650 kg = approximately 23 bags
500 trees = €660 = 3,300 kg = approximately 47 bags
1,000 trees = €1,300 = 6,500 kg = approximately 94 bags
1,500 trees = €2,000 = 10,000 kg = approximately 144 bags

What are the conditions for participation?
Participation in the project and financing of the operation is open to all our coffee roasting customers in France and internationally.
Sales recorded in the operation must be made:
- under contract from 20/10/2025 and shipped before 24/12/2025 (24 inclusive);
- as spot purchases made between 20/10/2025 and 24/10/2025.
