Naturally produced in a self-sustaining ecosystem

Teodoro Engelhardt is one of Guatemala's visionary producers. He has been running this family farm for 4 generations.

Finca La Bella is located in the Sierra de las Minas, El Progreso in Guatemala at an altitude of 1450 to 1650 metres above sea level.

Teodoro's goal is to create an autonomous ecosystem by naturally producing exceptional coffees!

Located in a tropical forest, the 80-hectare farm enjoys a microclimate that creates a unique cup profile. Teodoro focused on planting different varieties such as Pacamara, Villa Sarchi and Caturra, and building drying tents to evenly dry the coffee in the sun and improve the fermentation process. After harvesting, all the coffees are fully washed and fermented for 15 to 18 hours.

The region Nuevo ORIENTE

Since the 1950s, coffee cultivation has been a longstanding tradition in this region. Presently, nearly every farm on the mountain has transformed into a coffee-producing unit, turning what was once one of the poorest and most isolated areas of Guatemala into a vibrant and flourishing community.

Situated on a former volcanic range, Oriente experiences regular rainfall and cloud cover. Its soil composition consists of metamorphic rock, providing a balanced mineral profile distinct from soils in regions that have undergone volcanic activity since the inception of coffee planting.
