About this coffee

Roger Ureña Hidalgo's family has been working in coffee production for 40 years. When he took over the farm in 2015, Roger had the desire to be fully involved in the farm with his son. Together, they closely follow all stages of production, from the soil to the process, in order to be able to control and adjust the quality of his coffees as well as their taste profiles. Very committed to environmental preservation, they pay particular attention to saving water and energy. The work on improving agricultural practices has borne fruit as the farm is NAMA-CAFÉ certified. Year after year, the number of varieties produced has increased to 14 different varieties today. Always seeking to improve, the key words of this family are : Innovate while maintaining and improving quality.

Station Santa Teresa

The Santa Teresa station is owned by the Ureña family, Roger the father and Alex, the son. Here, at an altitude of 2,000 meters, the family's coffee varieties are processed on 15 farms: Geisha, SL-28, Typica, Pacamara, Wush wush, Casiopea, Sudan Ruma, Villalobos, Catuaí, Esperanza... The station is located in the Tarrazu region, on Costa Rica's west coast. The region and its climate are highly conducive to coffee-growing, for slow, gradual ripening of the cherries. The region's climate changes with the seasons: a season with moderate rainfall during berry growth and development, and a dry season coinciding with the harvest. After each harvest, each of the family's farms is carefully prepared to ensure consistent quality from crop to crop.
