This coffee is a blend of typica, Line S and catimor

This coffee is produced exclusively under the shade of woody trees of various species (pine, eucalyptus, erythrine, avocado). The coffee is a natural, processed by the Klasik Beans cooperative, which also works on the islands of Bali, Java, Sunda, Flores and Sulawesi.
From the Puntang area of Sunda in West Java, this coffee is a blend of typica, Line S and catimor.

Founded in 2008 by a group of producers in Puntang, the Klasik Beans cooperative has a philosophy that complements that of Belco, in terms of quality, people and respect for the environment.

Between high altitude forest and rice fields, the plantations stretch over the Guntur, Halimu Tilu and Puntang volcanoes. At each harvest, the coffee cherries are picked by hand and taken to one of the cooperative's 3 cherry processing sites (Pacet, Ciwidey or Garut). The cooperative works with more than 200 producers.

The farm Klasik Beans Java

Klasik Beans is a cooperative founded in 2008 by a group of producers in Puntang on the island of Java. This small cooperative shares a similar philosophy to Belco in terms of quality and respect for people and the environment. The cooperative has set itself the objective of helping to preserve Indonesia’s cultural heritage through the creation of organic, sustainable, fair trade coffees. Production must comply with good agricultural practices (nowadays almost 100% organic and fully shade-grown). All our Java coffees come from the island’s best and oldest terroir, situated in the Sundanese region to the west. The Sundanese are Indonesia’s second largest ethnic group. Klasik Beans is very well established in Java and has over 1,000 members, who can take their coffees to the cooperative’s five wet mills (Pacet, Puntang, Garut, Ciwidey and Cimenyan). Because it has a large coffee processing capacity, Klasik Beans is able to fully control the production of its lots, from receiving the cherries through to processing. They master all types of processes, including semi-washed, fully-washed, natural, honey and wet-hulled. The Klasik Beans cooperative has been working since 2009 with nearly 200 producers in the region to develop these terroir coffees with their distinctive characteristics. The plantations extend between high-altitude forests and rice fields over the Guntur, Halimu Tilu and Puntang volcanoes. At each harvest, the cherries are picked manually and taken to one of the cooperative’s 3 cherry processing sites (Pacet, Ciwidey or Garut) to ensure constant quality from coffee bean to cup.
