Santa Rosa is a family farm that has been run by Don Alexis and his two sons for over 20 years. The farm is located in a coffee-growing region at an altitude of between 1,700 and 2,000 metres. The 11 hectare farm produces mainly coffee, but also exports products such as avocados. Protected by the mountains of the Pacific slope, Santa Rosa is a forest sanctuary for animals and especially migratory birds. It is surrounded by several important hills, including Cerro El Dragon, one of the country's most emblematic natural hills. Producer Don Alexis values respect for the land. He produces his own organic fertiliser and grows his coffee in the shade of numerous species of trees: Erythrinas, Musaceae and fruit trees such as bananas, oranges, lemons, chayotes, loquats and tomatoes, among others.
