Finca La Josefina is owned by Leopoldo Andrade and his brother. They also own Finca La Josefina in the Oriente region of Ecuador. These farms are therefore located in the middle of the Amazon rainforest, between the Sumaco and Cayambe - Coca nature reserves. The project was launched in 2014 for Finca Josefina and in 2016 for Marjorelle.
Each of the farms covers 19 hectares and grows a dozen varieties, including Sudan Rume, which they are the only ones to grow in Ecuador. The other varieties grown at La Josefina are: typica, pacamara, java, sidra, yellow and orange bourbon, catuai and geisha.
The backdrop is the majestic El Reventador volcano, an active volcano rising to an altitude of 3,660 metres.
