Klasik Beans is a cooperative founded in 2008 by a group of producers in Puntang on the island of Java. This small cooperative shares a similar philosophy to Belco in terms of quality and respect for people and the environment. The cooperative has set itself the objective of helping to preserve Indonesia’s cultural heritage through the creation of organic, sustainable, fair trade coffees. Production must comply with good agricultural practices (nowadays almost 100% organic and fully shade-grown).
Their main sites, Banding and Puntang, are in Java but they also have washing stations at Pacet and Ciwidey.
They have also established themselves on the islands of Bali, Flores and Sulawesi by creating partnerships with local producers.
On the island of Bali, Klasik Beans has teamed up with a farmer named Yon who processes coffee on land donated by the cooperative. He also has a beautiful hostel at the foot of Mount Batur. He shares values with Klasik Beans that are totally in line with his philosophy – he has even had the cooperative’s slogan tattooed on his body.

All our Bali coffees come from the Kintamani region, huge plateaus located in the centre of the island, between Mount Agung and Mount Batur. The Kintamani region (900 - 1100m) is a fertile agricultural area with volcanic soil. All the coffees purchased are produced under the shade of citrus trees, clove trees, cocoa trees, banana trees and avocado trees.
