Located on a small island in the north of the archipelago and named "Flower" by the Portuguese who had a particular influence on the Catholic religion, Flores is one of the most visited tourist islands. It was the missionaries who introduced the cultivation of coffee, with varieties imported from Colombia (red and yellow bourbon). As the exclusive partner of Klasik Beans in Europe, we offer you Indonesian coffees of exceptional quality, produced by one of the oldest communities in Indonesia, located in the west of the island: the Waerebo. Located in the village of Manggarai, in the western region of Flores, the Waerebo community's plantations are shaded by natural forests and fruit trees such as mango and other species. "Gulu Pau" means mango plantation. Until 2014, the Waerebo sold their coffee on the local market because the quality of the coffee was not sought after. The Klasik Beans cooperative proposed to the village chief, Raphael Apen, to support them in improving the quality of the coffee and its chain. After consultation and a collective decision by the community, Andy from Klasik Beans accompanies them and works very closely with the village families, with whom he has a very good relationship. It is a truly virtuous partnership that has been established between this traditional community and the cooperative.
