Tatmara Coffee Farm, sometimes spelled Tatemara, takes its name from the Kaffigna language spoken in the Kaffa region, the historical birthplace of Arabica coffee. In Kaffigna, Tato means king and mara means justice, Tatmara therefore refers to “the place where the king rendered justice”, a name rich in history and local symbolism.
Tatmara Farm is equipped with comprehensive coffee processing facilities, including an on-site wet mill and dry mill. These installations allow full control over each key stage, from pulping to drying, including washing and hulling. This know-how ensures a careful and consistent processing approach, adapted to the different coffees produced on the farm. All operations are powered by electricity, and the farm harvests twice a year, with around two months dedicated to processing and drying each cycle.
