Antonio inherited the La Laguna farm from his father in 1993. It is located in the Metapan mountain range, terroir Alotepec in the Chalantenango region of northern El Salvador, bordering Honduras. The farm is full of natural springs, one of which is a lagoon, hence the farm's name. Antonio has participated many times in the Cup Of Excellence and has often placed in the Top 10. In 2019 he came 4th.

The Chalatenango's department, located in northern El Salvador, has emerged in recent decades as a prominent region for the production of high-quality coffee. Although historically not a major player in national coffee production, it has gained international recognition in recent years thanks to its favorable microclimate, high altitudes (between 1,200 and 1,800 meters above sea level), and the dedication of small producers to their agricultural management, harvesting, and post-harvest techniques.
The Alotepec-Metapán mountain range provides a cool, humid, mountainous environment with nutrient-rich volcanic soils. This, combined with the natural shade provided by native forests and trees, creates a perfect environment for sustainable coffee cultivation.
Alotepec Metapan is one of El Salvador's six mountain ranges. The region has become famous for the quality of its coffees, which have been grown at altitude since the end of the 19th century. The region's rich volcanic soil, temperate climate and high altitude create ideal conditions for growing coffee.
Alotepec Metapan is one of the wettest regions in El Salvador, with an altitude of between 1,000 and 2,000 metres above sea level. Because of the climate and altitude, the coffees ripen slowly, and this is one of the last regions in the country to complete the harvest.
Over the years, coffee growing has become an essential part of the region's economy. Today, the Alotepec-Metapan range is home to many small coffee farms (1.5 ha), most of which use traditional, ecological and sustainable farming practices.
