Goma district is one of the most famous coffee production areas in this appellation

The coffee trees come from the wild Choche forest located near the small town of Agaro.

Goma natural coffee is collected from among small farmers in the woreda of the same name, under the Jimma appellation. This Goma district, like its neighbouring district of Gera, is one of the most famous coffee production areas in this appellation. This natural Goma is characterised by floral notes and a great sweetness.

Zone Jimma

Jimma is a land of coffee origins. This appellation benefits from a rich natural environment where coffee grows mainly in the shade of large endemic trees, in the heart of the forests. The coffee produced here offers fine quality cups and an inspiring agricultural model. Yet this appellation has been a little slow to join the international speciality coffee scene. The work of local producers and the organisation of these coffee growers has revealed the potential of Jimma coffees, ensuring traceability and quality.

A few words about Mustafa Mohamed Ali

Mustafa Mohamed Ali is a long-standing Belco producer, to whom he has been selling his coffee since 2016 when he obtained his export licence. His business is part of a family tradition, the legacy of which he seeks to maintain. This producer's family has been producing and selling coffee since the 1950s, particularly to Yemeni traders who used to come to his region to buy coffee. When Mohamed Ali took over the management of the family plots in the 1980s, he immediately set about maintaining the coffee trees planted by his father.

His relatively small plots of land are planted with endemic varieties, derived from wild coffee trees in the Choche forest. To be more independent and have greater control over his production, he has invested in drying and washing plants. As well as coffee, he also produces milk and honey.
