IMPACT SCORE®
The score that assesses the sustainability of your coffees.
This tool serves a dual purpose: it helps you easily integrate sustainability into your purchasing decisions, and it enables us to identify agro-environmental, socio-territorial, and economic projects at origin. Explore the methodology behind the score, the 24 scoring criteria and how you can present this to your customers.

The 3 dimensions of sustainability
To define sustainability, we drew on the three-dimensional approach of the Brundtland Report "Our Common Future". This allowed us to identify the 3 fundamental dimensions from which we analyse, support, and promote each coffee and each project.
Discover these 3 dimensions, 8 sub-dimensions, and the 24 criteria we have identified and on which our assessment is based.

METHODOLOGY
THEORY
An agricultural evaluation concept tailored to coffee production.
We have drawn inspiration from the three-dimensional approach to sustainability and the IDEA4 tool to lay the foundations of our tool, which we have then adapted to the context of coffee.
DESIGN
With the support of a group of engineering students in international agro-development (ISTOM), we defined 24 indicators to characterise the sustainability of coffee farms. This tool was tested in the field (in Colombia, Ethiopia, Guatemala, and El Salvador) and validated by our Impact and Transition sector specialists.
FIELDWORK
At each of our locations in producing countries, an agronomist has been trained in the tool and is now responsible for collecting and assessing the level of sustainability of producers, cooperatives, or associations. Meded oversees Impact Score® data collection in Africa, Gabriela in South America, and Lorena in Central America.
