The estate was founded in 1951 according to the Ethiopian calendar. It originally belonged to Mustafa Mohamed Ali's father, a recognized religious scholar (sheikh), trained in Islamic studies at Alexandria University in Egypt.
In 1987 (Ethiopian calendar), Mustafa took over the family farm after his return from Saudi Arabia, continuing the development of the estate with high standards and commitment.
Mohamed Ali is now a long-standing partner of Belco. A long-time partner, he offers us several coffees from this terroir, with a constant focus on quality. This lot is a Grade 1 natural, the highest Ethiopian classification, ensuring rigorous selection of cherries and great purity in the cup.
The dry mill specializes exclusively in the natural process. Harvest begins in October. The permanent team consists of two consultants and two security guards, augmented by approximately 35 seasonal workers during the harvest period, including 30 to 40 hand pickers. All post-harvest agronomic work is carried out by specialized contractual services.
