In Sundanese, Tumaritis literally means “continually falling drops of water” or “a place bathed in a gentle and constant drizzle”. In Sundanese and Javanese puppet theatre, the Wayang, a territory where water continuously flows never experiences drought. Tumaritis thus symbolizes a fertile land and a nurtured community, both physically and spiritually.
Produced in the Garut region, West Java, this coffee combines Typica and Catimor varieties.
Presented as Triple Picked, this lot undergoes particularly rigorous selection. It is processed using the washed method. After the harvest and sorting of ripe cherries, they are cleaned and then pulped. The coffee then undergoes dry fermentation overnight to facilitate mucilage removal. The parchment coffee is dried until it reaches a moisture content of 10 to 12%, before being dry-hulled.
Offered by Adena, this lot reflects the work carried out in Garut focusing on the precision of sorting, mastery of the washed process, and the expression of West Java's terroirs.
