In 1956, Mr. Murage Nyaga and his wife Janet Muthoni planted their first SL28 seedlings into the volcanic red earth on the southern slopes of Mt. Kenya fertile ground renowned for its richness, gentle rains, and a climate ideal for exceptional coffee. For over four decades, they nurtured the land. Today, their three daughters Marion, Faith & Caroline carry their legacy forward.
This AA grade (screen size 18+) lot features the legendary SL28 variety, Kenya's queen variety.
Grown at 1,700–1,800 meters on volcanic soils with 1,000mm of annual rainfall, the cherries are hand-picked, sorted, floated, fermented overnight, and sun-dried on African raised beds for 8–15 days. The washed process highlights the variety's signature clarity, sweetness, and acidity.
