Farm

Diego Jimenez Luna
Tenejapa

About

Don Diego cultivates Bourbon and Caturra varieties, red, yellow and orange. Its plots grow peacefully under the shade of the chalums in the primary forest of Chiapas. He works with the help of his family given his advanced age. During harvest, the temperatures are rather low so the fermentation time often reaches 48 hours and drying usually lasts 7 days with some temporary interruptions due to rain. Don Diego is a micro producer. The coffee arrived in the Chiapas area in 1974, before that he was growing sugar cane. He has been growing bourbon and caturra for over 30 years. Don Diego belongs to a working group of 12 small family producers. Cafeologo and Pedro Gomez are helping Don Diego and other advanced-age producers to improve their production to improve their coffee farming revenues.
