About

Karamo, DWD's new station, is located in the Sidama region of Ethiopia, specifically in Bura Wereda in the Karamo kebele (village). It is called Shashamo, after the son of Dukale. This independent station is near to Alo station, another DWD station. It has 46 african beds dedicated exclusively to processing the coffee collected by the Karamo station, which allows specific work to be carried out on the quality of the coffee produced. Two processes are used in this station: natural and anaerobic.

Karamo is a station committed to various social initiatives, such as the creation of day-care centres within the station for permanent and casual workers, the installation of health centres and the creation of training centres for the coffee industry.
