Fazenda Santana

About

Fazenda Santana is a medium-sized coffee farm for Brazil covering 120 hectares. Although located in the municipality of Espirito Santo do Pinhal, it is not considered an Espirito Santo appellation, but belongs to the Mogiana region in the state of Sao Paulo. The farm has 20 hectares of preserved forest and also produces freshwater fish in its main lake. The coffee plantation is divided into different monovarietal plots, the oldest of which was planted in 1967 (Mondo Novo), with more recently Yellow Bourbon in 2010. The farm is co-owned by Arnaldo Franco Moraes (whose family was present when Espirito Santo do Pinhal was founded and who is the farm's historical owner), Carlos Brando and Emilio Lopez. Emilio is a well-known producer in El Salvador and owns the El Manzano and Ayutepeque farms. He bought part of the farm in 2016. He is a specialty coffee producer and expert in harvesting and processing techniques. When he joined the farm in 2015, Emilio Lopez marked the beginning of a new phase, built around common values and a shared vision for achieving superior quality.
