The Panama Farm was established in 1933 through the initiative of Frederick William Owen Smith, and later acquired by Julio Herrera in 1985. Today, Alex Herrera has inherited this family farm and manages it with passion and determination. The two Herrera family farms practice polyculture (macadamia, avocados, pollen, bamboo). Located on the slopes of the Atitlan Volcano, the soil is volcanic and stony, reminiscent of certain Bordeaux vineyards. A water treatment system allows for the recovery of wastewater for the irrigation of coffee trees.
