Klasik Beans is a cooperative founded in 2008 by a group of growers in Puntang on the island of Java. This small cooperative has a philosophy that complements Belco's in terms of quality, humanity and respect for the environment. The cooperative aims to preserve Indonesia's cultural heritage by producing organic, sustainable and fair trade coffee. The production must respect good agricultural practices (today almost organic & totally under shade). Their main locations are in Java: Banding and Puntang, but they also have washing stations in Pacet and Ciwidey. Later they expanded to the islands of Bali, Flores and Sulawesi by establishing partnerships with local producers. On the island of Flores, their partner is called Andy. He lives with the Waerebo people in the west of the island and shares their best practices in farming and processes (semi-washed and honey).
