Palermo is a municipality in Colombia, located in the northwestern part of the Huila department. It is part of the Andean region and is situated in the upper Magdalena Valley, east of the Central Cordillera. The municipality covers an area of 917 km², has an altitude of 690 meters above sea level, and an average temperature of 27°C. The agricultural and commercial sectors are among the most important in the municipality, with coffee and rice as the main crops.

Topographically, the territory is divided into four distinct regions extending from south to north: to the west, a mountainous area corresponding to the eastern slope of the Central mountain range; followed by a picturesque valley where the municipal capital is located; then a chain of granite hills; and finally, to the east, a plain that is part of the Magdalena Valley. The buffer zone of the Nevado del Huila Natural Park is the most important ecosystem for the municipality of Palermo. It stands out for its biodiversity, vast forested areas, and significant water resources.

Agriculture and commerce are among the most significant sectors of the municipality's economy, with coffee and rice being the primary crops.
