David Maguta's farm is located about 150 km from Nairobi, in Nyeri. This land was obtained by David's grandfather in the 1950s. His father continued to work that farm, where David grew up. David reminds himself perfectly to spent time running between coffee trees during harvest when he was just a small boy.
Now, David works 5 hectares in total and 2 are dedicated to coffee. In the rest of the plots he cultivates macadamia nuts, which are famous to export. He also grows bananas and mangoes for local markets. And then, he collectes useful fodder to feed animals of this farm, pigs, goats, and cows.
The new interest for kenyan coffee gives a new place for this crop on David’s farm.
