Until a few years ago, we thought we had discovered Australia’s one and only coffee farm, but we could not have been further from the truth! And it was by pure chance that we came across the Mountain Top Estate and its exceptional coffee. The cherries at this farm, located in the region of New South Wales, some 200 km south of Brisbane and at an altitude of 350 metres, are controlled at each stage of production, from harvesting through to drying. The coffee enjoys climatic conditions similar to those of coffees usually grown in much higher regions. The bean quality is such that it has allowed a barista who chose one of the farm’s coffees to win a world championship. The Mountain Top Estate’s mill is the most modern in Australia and boasts one of the best optical sorting technologies.
