Navarro's Micromill
Frailes

About

When he took over at the helm of his family farm, Eduardo Navarro Jimenez wanted to switch to specialty coffee production. The producer acquired some new farms at the same time. Today Eduardo has 7 farms, managed by himself, his wife and his 6 children. Each member of the family manages their own farm with respect for 3 fundamental values: passion, excellence and sustainability. Because the farms are all parcelled out, the Navarros have been able to work on microlots, which they send to a small neighbouring beneficio that dries or washes the coffee before dispatch. It was during this period that Belco began working with Navarro coffees. In 2016, the family finally invested in a mill to control their own coffees. They built quite a large infrastructure equipped with Pinhalense machines for de-pulping and washing. They named the beneficio "Coffee Nace", a contraction of their surnames "Navarro" and "Ceciliano". The producers have chosen not to use herbicides at their various farms (San Cristobal, Los Angeles, La Guaria, La Guaria 2, Rio Conejo, San Gabriel and El Rosario).
