Sitio Punte Funda

About

The Sitio Ponte Funda farm is located at an altitude of 1,200 metres in one of the smallest Brazilian states, Espirito Santo, which borders Bahia (north), Minas Gerais (west) and Rio de Janeiro (south). In order to comply with government regulations aimed at preserving its remarkable fauna and flora, the farm maintains 20% of its property in the forest, just like the other producers in the region. At this farm, the semi-washed coffees are harvested by hand in order to adapt to the mountainous nature of the terroir. Harvesting lasts from June to December due to uneven maturation levels. Their manual harvesting process guarantees a unique cherry quality, since they are selected at optimum maturity. For the moment, the Sitio Ponte Funda farm processes only natural coffees. Because the quality of the coffee is improving from year to year, the producer is increasingly interested in producing small test lots at the next harvest. A challenge we are happy to have been able to contribute to for several years as a result of our collaboration with Sitio Ponte Funda.
