Vista al Valle
Lourdes de Naranjo

About

Hilltop at 1500 and 1600 masl, the Vista al Valle finca is located in the West Valley, on the terroir of Lourdes de Naranjo on the slopes of the Poas volcano. Vista al Valle literally means "Valley View". This sets the scene. This 20-hectare farm produces varieties Caturra, Pacamara and Villa sarchi. Coffees are dried under greenhouses or under the sun. The coffee plants benefit from those fertile and volcanic soil and a micro-climate associated with their geolocation. Oldemar and Marlene own three farms: La Casa, Fidel and Zapote. All the coffees they produce are processed in Vista al valle. The crop is hand-made and for each microlot delivery, they measure the Brix level in the cherries (sugar level) before drying. They also produce bourbon, SL28 (from Kenya), caturra, villa sarchi, geisha. The volcanic soil is rich in nutrients and the river provides them with all the water necessary for their consumption or coffee production, and natural woodlands full of parrots and monkeys on the farm make it a beautiful and peaceful place to visit.
