A few words about Celinda Diaz

Celinda Diaz is a single mother, she is 45 years old and has two children. An only child, she shelters her parents. Not particularly fond of the city, she considers herself very lucky to live in the countryside. She went to high school in the town near San Ignacio. Since her childhood, she accompanied her father to work, he knew how to make them autonomous and independent by growing fruits, vegetables, raising farm animals and being a guide in a flagship coffee factory in the region. His father grew typica coffee trees but they were devastated by rust. It was difficult for the whole family to get up financially and morally. All of his father's efforts had been put into one investment. Because her father was demoralized, Celinda took the lead and restarted production. The finca El Cedro was born again and Celinda acquired plots of land belonging to her ex-husband. The cedars provide natural shade over this hectare and a half. Celinda was able to have her farm certified organic thanks to the support of Coopagro and she received training which enabled her to organize her farm by following organic practices. Celinda also has a small greenhouse to grow her vegetables, she also plants orchids. Her daily work on the land values her and her greatest reward is the quality of her products. In collaboration with the agricultural engineers of Coopagro, Celinda is currently working on the question of drying with African mesh. His goal is to take care and continue to learn from the world of specialty coffee. She wants to develop new varieties because she says that the taste is in the variety.
