So we arrive to the finals!
This was merely a day of cuppings: 30 coffees out of 60 in 3 sessions of 10 to get to know the coffees going to the final.
Tomorrow, we will have the last cupping session, the top ten, to know which were the best coffees produced in Burundi for this current crop.
In the afternoon, we will have the results, and at this moment we will be honored with the visit of all the producers whose coffees are participating, as well as all the owners of the washing stations where coffees were processed. Different authorities from the coffee association of Burundi (InterCafé) as well as members of the government will also join us.
Walking around Bujumbura, we found this famous coffee shop "Bujacafé" where all coffees are prepared by the Barista Champion of Uganda Besides offering the possibility to cup great coffees next to some top professionals of the sector, the Cup of Excellence always helped the countries to identify which are their best producing regions. And above all, it allows to connect the washing stations with potential buyers, who would already know what the country is able to produce, and would be willing to pay better prices for differentiated coffees.
