And the competition has started! Today, we have had the first cupping sessions. Well, we should say that last week the national jury has chosen the 60 coffees now competing among a larger list of lots participating. Each lot is composed from around 15 to 20 bags (60 kg). So, today, we have cupped the first 30 lots in sessions (tables) of 10 coffees. We could say that this is but a pre-selection, or meaning that we decide which coffees we don’t want to see more, and above all, which coffees we want to be sure to see on next Thursday in semi-finals !
Would you like to know how it looks (or better said, sounds) a cupping room in action?
If you have problems watching this video, view the web version here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRYWS0TaNis&w=420&h=315 Tomorrow, we have our second day of cupping sessions, the last playoffs before the semi finals!
Stay tuned, and find which will be the washing stations having the best lots produced and prepared for this Burundi’s tiny crop!
