If the state of Espirito is one of the smallest in Brazil, it is known for its mosaic of landscapes from steep mountains to the coastal regions of the Atlantic. Known for its historic production of robusta, Espirito Santo is a brand new producer of specialty coffee that has quickly carved out a place for itself in this particularly demanding environment. Very small appellation, the Espirito Santo is made up of small properties of 5 to 20 hectares located on steep mountains. This very mountainous soil requires a 100% manual harvest with a high percentage of selective sorting.
