ABOUT

This coffee is produced in the region of North Kivu, in the Virunga National Park on Lake Kivu, between 1500 and 2000 meters above sea level. Cultivated without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, cherries take time to grow in the shade of jungles. They are then manually harvested by small producers before being processed, depulped and sorted.
Thanks to the exceptional weather conditions it enjoys, this coffee is considered a "great cru" for amateurs and discoverers of great terroirs.
After harvest, the cherries are fully washed processed and then pulped with traditional machines. The coffee is then routed in the farm "Kakondo", at 35 km in the North East of Bukavu where it is sorted.

THE REGION OF Kivu

La région de Kivu offre une situation exceptionnelle pour la culture du café. La complexité du terroir, l'altitude élevée, les conditions pluviométriques ainsi que la réverbération des rayons du soleil sur le lac font des cafés de cette région un cru unique.
