Die Plantage Andaluz

The farm is located in the municipality of Génova, Vereda El Cedral, on the road from Barragán to Génova. At kilometer 2.2, towards the High Mountain Battalion, you’ll find a right turn marked by an orange gate. The farm was acquired in October 2015 under the name Geahill SAS, our family company. The name Andaluz was chosen by our family in honor of my mother, Luz Bernal De Hiller, for her example and dedication to her coffee farm in Silvania, Cundinamarca. After traveling throughout Colombia in search of the right conditions for producing specialty coffee, we found Andaluz. It offered everything we were looking for: ideal altitude, rich soil, water sources, forest, biodiversity, and the potential to develop high-quality lots.

"Today, we are transitioning from traditional coffee production to shade-grown coffee with regenerative practices. We produce our own lacto bio-fertilizers for soil and foliar applications and use Beauveria sp. for coffee borer control whenever possible."

Ein paar Worte zu Manfred Hiller

"In 1972, my father, Gerhard Hiller, fulfilled his dream of owning a coffee farm in Silvania, Cundinamarca. From the age of twelve, I began visiting the coffee fields with him every week. Two years later, after my father’s passing, my mother, Luz Bernal, and I continued this ritual, keeping his vision alive.

As the years went by, my journey led me to different corners of the coffee world. Working in Brazil, I discovered another dimension of coffee cultivation. Later, living in Europe, I realized ho
w much better coffee could taste, which sparked my curiosity to learn about it from the perspective of the cup. My time in Central America opened my eyes to the universe of specialty coffee, and from that moment on, I set myself a goal: to become a coffee producer dedicated to quality and distinction.

Today, that dream has become reality, fueled by heritage, passion, and the pursuit of excellence."
