CSR-Praxis

Its exemplary CSR commitment carries over into its production facilities and offices.

Its factories are fully electric and there is no chimney, meaning no pol lut ing gas emissions. In 1971, the company developed an all electric melting furnace, allowing it to power its manufacturing process using electricity alone. It is also installing LED lighting at its facilities to further reduce energy consumption. 70% of its lighting has already been replaced.

Nothing is lost, everything is transformed.

Hario pays close attention to the preservation of raw materials, recycling offcuts for future production or passing them on to other companies for reuse. A focus on employee well-being. Hario’s health and safety committee acts daily to provide its employees with numerous benefits, with for example sports and relaxation activities and a medical centre offering aromatherapy workshops, massages and acupuncture. Gender equity is also a priority: 25% of managerial positions are held by women.

Investment in humanitarian projects.

The brand supports the Project Waterfall charity, which works to bring coffee consumers and stakeholders together to give coffee-growing communities across the globe access to clean water and education. Since 2011, Project Waterfall has changed over 50,000 lives in Nicaragua, Tanzania, Rwanda, Vietnam, Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia.
