The Cerrado Mineiro is the most renowned coffee-producing region in the state of Minas Gerais.
Its vast plateaus allow for fully mechanized production, enabling the harvest of large volumes of arabica. This terroir is known for producing smooth, well-balanced cups with chocolate and hazelnut notes, and low acidity — offering a quality well above average, with an excellent quality-to-price ratio.
This coffee is a peaberry, a natural mutation of the coffee tree in which only one bean develops per cherry. Rounder and denser than standard beans, it tends to roast more evenly and usually delivers a more focused cup, with great clarity and sweetness.
This specialty coffee is purchased directly from the Expocaccer cooperative, recognized for its outstanding work with more than 1,000 producers in the region. We have been working with Expocaccer for several years, in a relationship built on trust and transparency.
Today, this coffee crosses the Atlantic by sail, making its journey part of a more sustainable approach.
