The family business was founded in the 1950s, when José Dutra Sobrinho (Zeca Dutra), father of Ednilson and Walter, began growing coffee in Minas Gerais with just over one hectare of land. Despite the small size of the farm, Zeca recognized the potential of the land and applied his passion for coffee cultivation to expand and improve the estate.
Zeca Dutra passed away in September 1999, leaving more than 300 hectares of coffee to his wife, Osvaldina Dutra, and his sons, Walter and Ednilson. The Dutra brothers (Ednilson Alves Dutra and Walter Cesar Dutra), both born on the farm, have worked for more than 35 years in agribusiness and across every segment of the coffee production chain. To make the most of their father’s legacy, they decided to invest heavily in their training in order to lead the farms into the new century. They have worked tirelessly not only on their own estates, but also to expand their knowledge base so they could apply the best possible practices to their production. Today, the brothers produce specialty and organic coffees that are synonymous with quality and differentiation, both in Brazil and abroad.
Today, this coffee crosses the Atlantic by sail, extending the Dutra brothers’ commitment to more sustainable production and logistics.
