Originating from the terroirs of Planadas and Gaitania, in the south of the Tolima region, this coffee is grown in a high-altitude area very often covered by clouds. It is from this feature that its name originates, as "Fábrica" comes from "Cloud Factory". The coffee is produced by indigenous hands, using high-altitude eco-friendly practices that respect the environment. The cultivated varieties are well adapted to the climate and environment, resulting in highly productive and profitable plants. Producers also grow corn, beans, and staple food products between the coffee trees and in shaded plots. The harvest depends on soil fertility, flowering, and fruit development. Collection takes place every 20 days and, thanks to the warm climate, fruits are harvested throughout the year, with peak periods in April, May, June, October, and November.
