Sourced from the terroir of the Serranía del Perijá, in the Valle del Cesar, in northern Colombia, this coffee comes from a region long affected by armed conflict. After years of forced abandonment, local communities returned to their land with the determination to rebuild their future through sustainable agriculture.
The Vallenato coffee is carried by the Entre Sierras association, a collective project bringing together 16 producer families committed to organic and Fair Trade-certified coffee farming. The association is built on principles of democratic governance, transparency, and solidarity, with the aim of improving producers’ living conditions and ensuring a more secure future for the next generations. It also supports the integration of new members through dedicated financial assistance.
Grown between 1,200 and 1,800 meters above sea level, under shade and away from large-scale intensive plantations, this washed coffee reflects both the environmental richness of the Serranía del Perijá and the strong social commitment at the heart of the Entre Sierras project, within a territory of high ecological value.
A Fairtrade certification (FLO ID) is required to place an order for this Fairtrade-certified product.
